Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Avionics Technician to join our team in Richmond, BC. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong aptitude for electronics and aviation, looking to build a career in aircraft maintenance. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of aircraft electrical and avionics systems. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of aircraft electrical and avionics systems.
  • Install, remove, and modify avionics components and wiring harnesses according to technical specifications and airworthiness directives.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Conduct functional tests of installed systems and ensure proper operation.
  • Document all maintenance and repair activities accurately and thoroughly in accordance with company and regulatory procedures.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to ensure efficient workflow and resolution of technical issues.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., Transport Canada).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of electronics and electrical principles.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
  • Proficiency with avionics test equipment and tools.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Basic computer proficiency for documentation and system access.
  • Eligibility for Canadian work sponsorship, if applicable.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in aviation maintenance or a related technical field, or completion of an accredited Avionics Technician program.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Avionics Technician program or equivalent technical training.
  • Prior experience in aviation maintenance or a related field beyond the minimum requirement.
  • Knowledge of Transport Canada regulations (CARs).
  • Experience with specific aircraft types relevant to Vector Aerospace's operations (e.g., helicopters, regional jets).
  • A valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) license, particularly 'E' rated, or working towards one.
