Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and vigilant individuals to join our team as Baggage Inspectors at Santa Fe Regional Airport. As a Baggage Inspector, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our nation’s transportation systems by meticulously screening checked baggage for prohibited items and potential threats. This is an essential federal position that requires keen attention to detail, strong observational skills, and a commitment to security protocols. Key Responsibilities
- Operate advanced screening equipment (e.g., X-ray machines, CT scanners) to inspect checked baggage for prohibited items.
- Conduct thorough physical searches of baggage when anomalies are detected or as required by protocol.
- Identify and interpret images of various items, including firearms, explosives, and other dangerous goods.
- Follow strict security procedures and regulations to ensure the safety and security of all passengers and airline personnel.
- Document and report all security incidents, prohibited items, and relevant findings accurately.
- Maintain a high level of vigilance and situational awareness in a dynamic airport environment.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other airport personnel.
- Adhere to all federal guidelines and agency policies regarding baggage screening and security operations.
