Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and physically capable Bindery Hand to join our team on a part-time basis. This manual role involves assisting with various post-press finishing tasks for printed materials. You will work day shifts, contributing to the smooth operation of our bindery department, ensuring products are finished to the highest standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for stable part-time work, with full training provided on all machinery and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the loading and unloading of paper and printed materials on various bindery machines.
- Perform manual tasks such as collating, folding, hand-gluing, counting, and packing finished products.
- Operate basic bindery equipment under supervision (e.g., paper drills, staplers).
- Conduct quality checks on finished materials to ensure accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Prepare finished products for dispatch, including labelling and boxing.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Support senior bindery staff with machine setup and troubleshooting as required.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks and lift moderately heavy objects (up to 15kg) comfortably.
- Good attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills for understanding job tickets and instructions.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a factory, warehouse, or production environment.
