Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and highly motivated Bread Delivery Assistant to join our dedicated night shift team based in Parramatta. This is a crucial full-time role responsible for ensuring our freshly baked products reach our clients across Sydney on time and in perfect condition every morning. If you’re a night owl with a strong work ethic, a valid driver’s license, and eager to be part of a fast-paced and essential service, we want to hear from you! Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently load freshly baked bread and other bakery products onto delivery vehicles, ensuring proper handling and securing.
- Follow pre-determined delivery routes meticulously to ensure timely distribution to various cafes, restaurants, and retail outlets.
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, adhering to all traffic laws, company policies, and best driving practices.
- Verify product quantities against delivery manifests and ensure accurate deliveries to each client.
- Maintain cleanliness and conduct basic pre-start and post-shift checks of the delivery vehicle.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety and hygiene standards throughout the loading and delivery process.
- Communicate effectively and promptly with the logistics team regarding any delivery issues, delays, or vehicle concerns.
- Represent Harvest Moon Bakeries professionally during all client interactions.
Required Skills
- Valid Australian Driver's License (C Class minimum, manual highly regarded).
- Availability and willingness to work consistent night shifts (typically commencing between 10 PM and midnight, finishing by 8 AM).
- Physical fitness, including the ability to lift, carry, and maneuver moderate weights (up to 20kg) regularly.
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Strong work ethic and keen attention to detail.
- Basic navigation skills and comfort using GPS systems or maps.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a delivery or logistics role, particularly within a food distribution context.
- Familiarity with the Parramatta and greater Sydney metropolitan road network.
- Experience working night shifts or in roles requiring flexible hours.
- Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance checks.
- Good communication and a customer service-oriented attitude, even for brief interactions.
