Job Description
Are you passionate about comics, board games, and pop culture? Do you enjoy a relaxed work environment where your interests can shine? Graham Crackers Comics in Naperville is seeking an enthusiastic Part-Time Cashier to join our friendly team! This role is perfect for someone who loves engaging with customers, has a keen eye for detail, and is eager to be a part of a vibrant hobby community. You’ll be the first point of contact for our customers, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable shopping experience, from helping them find their next favorite comic to processing sales with a smile.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products throughout the store.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using our POS system.
- Handle cash, credit, and gift card payments with integrity.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting checkout area and sales floor.
- Assist with stocking shelves, merchandising new arrivals, and organizing inventory.
- Answer customer inquiries about products, upcoming releases, and store policies.
- Promote current sales, events, and loyalty programs to customers.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure excellent customer service and operational efficiency.
- Participate in weekly comic book pull list management and new release setup.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a customer service or retail environment.
- Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive attitude and a passion for helping others.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with comic books, graphic novels, board games, or other hobby-related products.
- Previous experience with a point-of-sale (POS) system.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
