Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and physically fit Commercial Awning Installer Mate to join our growing team. As an Installer Mate, you will work closely with a lead installer, assisting in the safe and efficient installation of various commercial awning systems. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the construction and architectural products industry, with potential for career advancement. You will be instrumental in ensuring projects are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist lead installers with the preparation, loading, and transportation of materials and equipment to job sites.
  • Support the installation of commercial awnings and canopies, including frame assembly, fabric attachment, and secure mounting.
  • Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively under supervision.
  • Perform site preparation and cleanup, ensuring a tidy and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company safety protocols and construction site regulations.
  • Learn and apply best practices for awning installation techniques.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and site supervisors.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Basic understanding of construction safety practices.
  • Willingness to work at heights (e.g., on ladders, lifts).
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Valid G Class Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months of experience in general labor, construction, or a related field.
  • Experience using hand and power tools.
  • Working at Heights certification.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints or schematics.
