Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Commercial Bakery Delivery Driver to join our growing team. This full-time position involves early morning routes, delivering fresh bakery products to our clients across the Durham area and surrounding regions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely, safe, and efficient delivery of goods, upholding our commitment to customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
- Operate a commercial delivery vehicle safely and efficiently on early morning routes.
- Load and unload bakery products, ensuring accuracy and proper handling to prevent damage.
- Verify product counts against delivery invoices with customers.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any immediate concerns professionally.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding route changes, delays, or issues.
- Complete all required delivery paperwork accurately and submit it in a timely manner.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license (CDL not required for this role, standard Class C is sufficient)
- Clean driving record for at least the past 3 years
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout a shift
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Reliability and punctuality for early morning shifts
- Ability to navigate using GPS and route sheets
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous commercial delivery experience (e.g., food service, parcel delivery)
- Familiarity with the Durham, NC area and surrounding routes
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Experience operating hand trucks and pallet jacks
