Job Description
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of others? Baptistcare WA is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Community Care Offsider to join our team in Bunbury. This rewarding full-time role involves providing essential support to clients in their homes and within the community, enabling them to maintain independence and enhance their quality of life. You will travel throughout the Bunbury region, assisting clients with various daily tasks, offering companionship, and providing practical support. Full training and ongoing support will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals new to the care sector or those looking to transition into a meaningful career.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance, including showering, dressing, and grooming, respecting client dignity and privacy.
- Assist clients with light household duties, such as meal preparation, tidying, and laundry.
- Support clients with medication reminders as per care plans.
- Transport clients to appointments, social outings, and community activities using your own reliable vehicle.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities.
- Monitor and report any changes in client condition or concerns to the care coordinator.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of services provided.
Required Skills
- Genuine empathy, compassion, and a caring nature.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Valid Australian Driver's License.
- Reliable, roadworthy vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate or willingness to obtain.
- Satisfactory National Police Clearance and NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care, Disability, or Home and Community Care).
- Previous experience in a care, support, or customer service role.
- Understanding of person-centred care principles.
