Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Qualified Concreter to join our dynamic team in Rockhampton for immediate start. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and pour concrete for foundations, slabs, columns, and other structural elements.
- Set up and dismantle formwork, ensuring accuracy and stability.
- Cut, bend, and tie reinforcement steel (reo) according to engineering plans.
- Operate concrete pumps, vibrators, power screeds, and other related machinery safely and efficiently.
- Perform concrete finishing techniques including trowelling, screeding, and brooming to required specifications.
- Monitor concrete curing processes to ensure strength and durability.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Adhere strictly to all site safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Collaborate effectively with site supervisors, engineers, and other tradespersons.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of demonstrable experience as a Qualified Concreter.
- Proven experience working on large-scale commercial or civil construction projects.
- Solid understanding of concrete mix designs, properties, and applications.
- Proficiency in various concrete finishing techniques.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret construction plans and drawings.
- Current White Card (Construction Induction Card).
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Excellent physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour in various weather conditions.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player.
- Own basic concreting tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant trade qualification in concreting or civil construction.
- HR or HC class driver's license.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience operating laser screeds or other advanced concreting equipment.
- Ability to mentor junior team members.
