Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Corporate Lawyer to join our dynamic team in Derry/Londonderry. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on a broad range of corporate matters, advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, corporate governance, restructurings, and general corporate law. The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering strategic legal advice, managing client relationships, and contributing to the growth and success of our corporate practice in the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on various corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, disposals, and joint ventures.
  • Draft and negotiate a wide array of corporate documents, such as share purchase agreements, shareholder agreements, and articles of association.
  • Provide expert advice on corporate governance, company secretarial matters, and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage client relationships effectively, understanding their commercial objectives and delivering tailored legal solutions.
  • Conduct legal research and provide accurate, practical, and commercial advice.
  • Participate in business development initiatives and contribute to the firm's profile in the corporate legal sector.
  • Mentor junior legal professionals and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

Required Skills

  • Qualified Solicitor in Northern Ireland (or eligible to be admitted)
  • Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in corporate law within a reputable law firm or in-house legal department.
  • Strong technical legal skills with a solid understanding of corporate law principles and practices.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commercial awareness and a client-focused approach.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cross-border transactions.
  • An understanding of the Northern Irish business landscape.
  • Familiarity with financial regulations impacting corporate transactions.
