Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Crane Operator to join our dynamic team in Antioch, CA. This crucial role involves operating various types of cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials and equipment on large-scale construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient execution of lifting operations, adhering to all industry regulations and company safety standards. Key Responsibilities
- Operate hydraulic and lattice boom cranes with varying lifting capacities safely and efficiently.
- Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on crane equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Interpret load charts, crane specifications, and construction drawings.
- Rig and unrig loads safely and ensure proper weight distribution.
- Communicate effectively with ground crews and signal persons using hand signals or radio.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, site regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of crane operations and maintenance.
- Perform minor repairs and adjustments on equipment as needed.
Required Skills
- NCCCO or equivalent certification for relevant crane types (e.g., Lattice Boom Crawler, Telescopic Boom).
- Proven experience operating heavy lifting equipment on construction sites.
- Strong understanding of crane mechanics, load dynamics, and safety procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret load charts and operational manuals.
- Excellent spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination.
- Effective communication skills with team members.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or vocational training in heavy equipment operation.
- Experience with diverse construction materials and project types.
- Familiarity with local Antioch/Bay Area construction regulations.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
