Job Description
Lakeridge Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietitian / Clinical Nutritionist to join our dynamic healthcare team in Oshawa, Ontario. This vital role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nutritional care for patients across various clinical settings. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for patients.
- Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans.
- Provide medical nutrition therapy and counseling for various conditions.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition interventions.
- Educate patients, families, and staff on nutrition-related topics.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
- Participate in departmental meetings and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to professional standards and ethical guidelines.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics.
- Registered Dietitian (RD) or eligibility for registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario (CDO).
- Strong knowledge of medical nutrition therapy and evidence-based practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Demonstrated ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nutritional care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting.
- Experience with diverse patient populations and cultural sensitivities.
- Familiarity with Canadian healthcare system regulations.
- Membership in Dietitians of Canada.
