Job Description

This is an exciting entry-level internship opportunity for individuals passionate about finance, particularly the fixed income and bond markets. As a Fixed Income & Bond Market Intern on our Trading Floor, you will gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment, learning the intricacies of bond trading, market analysis, and portfolio support. This role is designed to provide comprehensive exposure and foundational knowledge for a career in capital markets. No prior direct experience in trading is required; we are looking for eager, analytical minds ready to learn.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist traders with daily market monitoring, data compilation, and quantitative analysis related to fixed income securities.
  • Support the fixed income desk with trade reconciliation, settlement processes, and operational tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Conduct research on specific bond issues, prevailing market trends, and relevant economic indicators to inform trading decisions.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports and presentations on market performance, trading activities, and portfolio insights for internal stakeholders.
  • Shadow experienced traders and analysts to gain a deep understanding of various trading strategies, risk management techniques, and market dynamics.
  • Contribute actively to special projects aimed at enhancing desk efficiency, improving market intelligence tools, and streamlining workflows.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and quantitative reasoning skills with an ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, capable of articulating insights clearly and effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis functions) is essential.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, high-pressure team environment.
  • Demonstrated genuine interest in financial markets, with a particular enthusiasm for fixed income and bond instruments.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related quantitative field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of financial instruments, investment principles, and capital market structures.
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg Terminal, Refinitiv Eikon, or other market data platforms is a plus (extensive training will be provided).
  • Prior coursework or projects involving statistics, econometrics, corporate finance, or financial modeling.
