Job Description

Are you passionate about video games and have a keen eye for detail? Ubisoft is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Game Tester to join our quality assurance team in Cheltenham. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the highest quality of our games by meticulously identifying, documenting, and reproducing bugs and glitches across various platforms. Key Responsibilities

  • Execute test plans and test cases to identify bugs and defects in game software.
  • Accurately document, reproduce, and report issues using our bug tracking system.
  • Verify bug fixes and ensure issues are resolved correctly without introducing new problems.
  • Provide detailed feedback on game design, usability, and overall player experience.
  • Collaborate closely with development, design, and production teams to understand game features and testing requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with gaming trends, platforms, and industry best practices.
  • Contribute to the improvement of testing processes and methodologies.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Extensive experience playing a wide variety of video games across multiple genres and platforms.
  • Proficiency in using bug tracking software (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to tasks.
  • A genuine passion for video games and the gaming industry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a QA or testing role within the gaming industry (even volunteer or amateur projects).
  • Familiarity with game development cycles and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of different operating systems and hardware configurations.
  • Experience with various console platforms (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch) and PC gaming.
  • Basic understanding of scripting or programming languages.
