Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and meticulous Entry-Level Goods-In Receiving Clerk to join our Canterbury distribution center. This hybrid role offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in both warehouse operations and administrative tasks. You will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth processing of incoming goods, verifying deliveries, and maintaining accurate inventory records. No prior experience is necessary; we provide comprehensive training to help you succeed in this crucial position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, unload, and inspect incoming goods against purchase orders and delivery notes.
  • Identify and report any discrepancies, damages, or quality issues with incoming shipments.
  • Accurately record goods received into the inventory management system.
  • Organize and store received goods in designated warehouse locations.
  • Assist with inventory counts and stock reconciliations as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the receiving area.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers, drivers, and internal departments.
  • Adhere to all company safety procedures and operational guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift and move packages up to 15kg (with assistance if heavier).
  • Basic computer literacy and ability to learn new software systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive attitude and a willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or administrative role (even if voluntary or temporary) is a plus but not essential.
