Job Description
Are you ready to embrace the darkness and unleash your inner monster? Shuswap Scream Park is seeking energetic and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Haunted House Scare Actors for the upcoming Halloween season. This is a seasonal, temporary position primarily involving evening shifts, perfect for those looking for a unique and thrilling way to earn extra income and be part of a vibrant, spooky community. No prior experience is necessary; we will provide all the training you need to become a master of fright!
Key Responsibilities
- Portray assigned characters with energy and conviction, terrifying guests in various haunted attractions.
- Execute designated scare tactics and jump scares effectively and safely.
- Maintain character integrity and costume/makeup throughout shifts.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe environment for both guests and staff.
- Work collaboratively with other scare actors and event staff to enhance the overall guest experience.
- Assist with basic setup and teardown tasks as required before and after shifts.
- Demonstrate professionalism and enthusiasm while representing Shuswap Scream Park.
Required Skills
- Enthusiasm for Halloween, horror, and performance.
- Reliability and punctuality for all scheduled shifts.
- Ability to follow directions and adapt to changing scenarios.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.
- Comfortable working in dark, loud, and sometimes confined spaces.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical movements for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous acting, theatre, or performance experience (amateur or professional).
- Experience in improv or character work.
- A passion for horror cinema or haunted attractions.
- Customer service experience (understanding of guest interaction, even when scaring!).
