Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and reliable Hospital Cleaners to join our team for casual night shifts. This essential role involves maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across various hospital departments, ensuring a safe and sterile environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Full training will be provided to ensure you meet our stringent cleaning protocols and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties in patient rooms, operating theatres, waiting areas, offices, and common spaces.
- Sanitise high-touch surfaces, medical equipment, and bathrooms according to hospital protocols.
- Empty waste bins and dispose of medical and general waste safely and appropriately.
- Replenish cleaning supplies and ensure equipment is well-maintained.
- Adhere to strict infection control and safety guidelines at all times.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to supervisors promptly.
- Work collaboratively with clinical and support staff to ensure a clean and functional hospital environment.
Required Skills
- Ability to work night shifts and weekends as required.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Good physical stamina for standing, walking, bending, and lifting during shifts.
- Understanding of basic hygiene and safety practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a cleaning role, preferably within a healthcare or commercial setting.
- Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) procedures.
- Current police check and influenza vaccination (or willingness to obtain).
