Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and meticulous individuals to join our Environmental Services team as a Hospital Cleaner. In this full-time role, you will play a vital part in maintaining a clean, safe, and sterile environment for our patients, visitors, and staff within our Tucson facilities. Your commitment to cleanliness directly impacts patient well-being and helps prevent the spread of infections. This is a full-time position offering comprehensive benefits. Full training will be provided to ensure you are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in this critical role, even if you have no prior hospital cleaning experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize patient rooms, operating rooms, laboratories, public areas, and offices according to established procedures and schedules.
- Dust, mop, vacuum, and scrub floors, walls, and other surfaces.
- Empty wastebaskets, transport trash and hazardous waste to designated areas.
- Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
- Follow all infection control and safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report any maintenance needs or safety hazards to supervisors.
- Interact professionally and respectfully with patients, visitors, and staff.
Required Skills
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleanliness standards.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to perform duties that require standing, walking, bending, lifting, and pushing.
- Basic understanding of safety and hygiene practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience, preferably in a healthcare or hospitality setting.
- Familiarity with hospital-grade cleaning agents and equipment.
- CPR certification (though not strictly necessary for this role, it can be a plus in a hospital environment).
