Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Immigration Lawyer to join our dynamic team in Canary Wharf, London. This role involves providing expert legal advice and representation to a diverse portfolio of corporate and private clients on all aspects of UK immigration law. You will manage a varied caseload, from visa applications and compliance matters to complex appeals, ensuring exceptional service and strategic counsel.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal advice and guidance to clients on UK immigration law, policies, and procedures.
- Manage a comprehensive caseload of immigration matters, including Skilled Worker visas, Global Talent visas, Innovator visas, Spouse visas, and settlement applications.
- Prepare and submit high-quality visa applications, ensuring compliance with Home Office requirements and deadlines.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support client cases and stay updated on legislative changes.
- Represent clients in appeals and judicial review proceedings when necessary.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues across different teams and jurisdictions.
- Maintain meticulous case records and client communication.
- Contribute to business development initiatives and internal training programs.
Required Skills
- Qualified Solicitor or Barrister in England & Wales with a valid practicing certificate.
- Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in UK immigration law (corporate and/or private client).
- In-depth knowledge of the UK Immigration Rules, guidance, and relevant legislation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal information clearly.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Proven ability to manage a significant caseload efficiently and effectively.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with a global immigration firm or a large corporate immigration practice.
- Specialisation in a particular area of UK business immigration (e.g., sponsor licence compliance, complex appeals).
- Proficiency in a second language relevant to Fragomen’s client base.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior legal professionals.
