Job Description

Are you a creative and customer-focused Interior Designer ready to make an impact? B&Q is seeking a talented individual to join our vibrant team in Bradford. In this role, you will work directly with customers to understand their home improvement aspirations, translating their ideas into practical and stunning design solutions, particularly within our kitchen and bathroom departments. You will utilize your design expertise and our extensive product range to create bespoke plans that meet both aesthetic and functional requirements, ensuring an exceptional customer journey from initial consultation to project completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed consultations with customers to understand their design needs, preferences, and budget.
  • Develop innovative and practical interior design solutions, focusing on kitchens, bathrooms, and other home spaces.
  • Utilize CAD software and other design tools to create detailed plans, layouts, and visualisations for clients.
  • Present design concepts to customers, effectively communicating ideas and incorporating feedback.
  • Advise customers on product selection, materials, finishes, and accessories from B&Q's extensive range.
  • Collaborate with sales and installation teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Stay updated with current interior design trends, product innovations, and industry best practices.
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the design process.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in interior design principles and space planning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers.
  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit) for creating detailed layouts and visuals.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing previous design projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in kitchen and/or bathroom design.
  • Experience working in a retail environment or directly with clients.
