Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Logistics & Distribution Head to lead our extensive operations in Gainesville, Florida. This pivotal role requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes, inventory management, warehousing, and transportation. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our distribution network, driving efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring exceptional service delivery. With Chief of Staff (CoS) support available, you will have dedicated strategic assistance to help manage complex projects and initiatives, allowing you to focus on high-level strategy and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans for logistics and distribution operations, aligning with company objectives.
- Oversee daily warehouse, inventory, and transportation activities, ensuring optimal performance and compliance.
- Manage and optimize freight forwarding, inbound/outbound logistics, and third-party logistics (3PL) relationships.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and service levels.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of logistics professionals.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging technology and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and safety standards.
- Manage budgets, control expenditures, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including sales, production, and procurement to ensure seamless operations.
- Utilize Chief of Staff support effectively for strategic initiatives and project management.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain, or distribution management.
- Proven leadership experience managing large teams and complex operations.
- Expertise in warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement and operational efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree (MBA or MS in Supply Chain Management).
- Certifications such as CSCP, CPIM, or equivalent.
- Experience with global logistics and international trade regulations.
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
