Job Description
Kal Tire, Canada’s largest independent tire dealer, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Mobile Tire Fitting Technician to join our team in Saint John, New Brunswick. This full-time role offers the unique opportunity to deliver expert tire services directly to our customers, ensuring their vehicles are safe and ready for the road. You will operate a fully equipped service van, responding to calls for tire installations, repairs, rotations, and balancing for a variety of passenger, light truck, and commercial vehicles. This position requires participation in an on-call roster, providing essential emergency services and maintaining our commitment to customer satisfaction around the clock. Key Responsibilities
- Perform mobile tire fitting, balancing, rotation, and repair services for diverse vehicle types (passenger, light truck, commercial).
- Operate and maintain a fully equipped company service van, ensuring all tools and equipment are in excellent working order.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and advise customers on tire health, safety, and optimal performance.
- Respond efficiently to scheduled appointments and emergency on-call service requests during an assigned roster.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company procedures at all times, prioritizing personal and public safety.
- Accurately process payments, complete detailed service records, and manage tire inventory within the service van.
- Provide exceptional customer service, building trust and ensuring a positive experience with every interaction.
Required Skills
- Valid Class 5 (or equivalent) driver's license with a clean driving abstract.
- Minimum of 12 months of proven experience in tire fitting, repair, and balancing.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and effective problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently in a mobile environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer interaction.
- Physical ability to lift heavy tires (up to 50 lbs) and perform demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
- Availability to participate in an on-call roster, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
- Automotive Service Technician certification or equivalent relevant trade qualifications.
- Previous experience working with commercial or heavy truck tires.
- Prior experience in a mobile service technician role.
- Familiarity with tire management software and digital service tools.
