Job Description
Are you looking for immediate work with no prior experience required? U-Haul Moving & Storage of Elliot Lake is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as Movers / General Labourers. This is an excellent opportunity for students or anyone looking to gain valuable work experience and earn competitive wages right away. You’ll be assisting customers with their moving needs, ensuring safe and efficient handling of goods, and contributing to a positive team atmosphere. Full training will be provided on-site. If you’re physically fit, a team player, and ready to start working immediately, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload household items, furniture, and boxes into and out of moving trucks or storage units.
- Pack, unpack, and arrange items as directed by customers or team leads.
- Disassemble and reassemble furniture as needed, using basic tools.
- Protect items from damage during transit using appropriate packing materials.
- Operate moving equipment such as dollies, hand trucks, and furniture pads safely.
- Assist with general labour tasks around the facility as required.
- Provide excellent customer service, maintaining a positive and helpful attitude.
- Work effectively as part of a team to complete moving jobs efficiently.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 75 lbs) repeatedly and safely.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Physical stamina and endurance for a demanding role.
- No prior experience required; full training provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (or currently enrolled).
- Valid G-class driver's license (or equivalent) with a clean driving record is an asset but not required for all positions.
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
- Familiarity with moving processes or basic hand tools.
