Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Museum Curator / Director with a specialized focus on international sponsorship to join our dedicated team. This unique role combines curatorial expertise with a strong aptitude for fundraising and cultivating international partnerships. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, curating, and overseeing international exhibitions, while also securing sponsorships and grants from global organizations and benefactors to support these initiatives. This position requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of art history, cultural diplomacy, and non-profit development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, research, and develop international exhibition concepts aligned with the museum's mission and collection strengths.
  • Manage all aspects of exhibition development, including budget, logistics, installation, and interpretation.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with international artists, galleries, museums, and cultural institutions.
  • Lead the strategy and execution of international sponsorship initiatives, including grant writing, proposal development, and donor cultivation.
  • Oversee the successful acquisition of international grants and corporate sponsorships to fund exhibitions and related programs.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and education departments to promote international exhibitions and programs.
  • Represent the museum at international conferences, symposia, and networking events.
  • Conduct scholarly research, write exhibition catalogs, and contribute to publications.
  • Mentor and supervise junior curatorial staff and interns involved in international projects.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of curatorial experience in a museum or gallery setting.
  • Proven track record in securing grants and sponsorships, particularly from international sources.
  • Strong knowledge of art history, with an emphasis on global contemporary or modern art.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English.
  • Demonstrated project management and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to travel internationally as required.
  • Master's degree in Art History, Museum Studies, Curatorial Practice, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in a relevant field.
  • Fluency in a second language (e.g., French, Spanish, German, Mandarin).
  • Experience working with diverse cultural contexts and international art markets.
  • Established network of international art professionals and donors.
