Job Description
This role offers an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Water & Wastewater Engineer to join our dynamic team in Gainesville, Florida. We are seeking a professional to contribute to critical infrastructure projects, focusing on the design, analysis, and optimization of water and wastewater treatment plants, collection systems, and distribution networks. Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed engineering design for water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment plants, pumping stations, pipelines, and force mains.
- Conduct hydraulic modeling, process calculations, and feasibility studies for water and wastewater systems.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, engineering specifications, and project proposals.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and regulatory agencies to ensure project success.
- Assist in various project management activities, including scope definition, schedule adherence, and budget monitoring.
- Participate in site investigations, data collection, and field assessments to inform design decisions.
- Ensure all design work and project deliverables comply with environmental regulations and industry standards.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar engineering design software.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic principles and water/wastewater treatment processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and client interaction.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a high-performing team.
- Fundamental knowledge of relevant environmental regulations and permitting processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida or the ability to obtain within 12 months.
- Master's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering.
- Experience with specific hydraulic modeling software (e.g., WaterCAD, SewerCAD, HEC-RAS).
- Demonstrated project management experience on water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with local and state regulatory requirements and permitting processes in Florida.
