Job Description

Are you a night owl looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference? Holiday Inn Express Waterbury is seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Night Porter. This is an entry-level position, and we offer full, comprehensive training – no prior hotel experience is necessary! If you have a strong work ethic, a friendly demeanor, and are eager to learn, we encourage you to apply. As a Night Porter, you will be crucial in ensuring the safety, security, and comfort of our guests during the overnight hours, providing a seamless experience from check-in to check-out.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular security walks and patrols of the hotel premises.
  • Assist guests with late-night check-ins and early check-outs.
  • Handle guest inquiries and requests with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Respond to and resolve guest issues and emergencies in a calm and timely manner.
  • Set up and clear away breakfast areas as required.
  • Perform light cleaning and tidying of public areas.
  • Monitor security cameras and alarm systems.
  • Prepare and distribute wake-up calls.
  • Ensure all hotel policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Complete end-of-day reports and handover to the morning shift.

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks.
  • A positive attitude and a commitment to guest satisfaction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous customer service experience (any industry).
  • Basic first aid knowledge.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
