Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physiotherapy Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role involves supporting our physiotherapists in delivering high-quality care to patients across various clinical settings. You will play a crucial role in patient rehabilitation, assisting with treatment plans, monitoring progress, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for recovery. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist qualified physiotherapists in the delivery of treatment programs, including exercises, mobilisations, and use of equipment.
  • Prepare treatment areas and equipment before and after sessions, ensuring cleanliness and readiness.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, reporting any changes or concerns to the supervising physiotherapist.
  • Support patients with mobility and transfers, adhering to manual handling guidelines.
  • Provide guidance and encouragement to patients during their rehabilitation journey.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to service development.
  • Ensure a safe and tidy environment for patients and staff.
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to patient scheduling and equipment management.

Required Skills

  • Previous experience in a healthcare support role or similar environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
  • Basic IT skills for record-keeping.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  • Experience specifically within a physiotherapy or rehabilitation setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • First Aid qualification.
