Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physiotherapy Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role involves supporting our physiotherapists in delivering high-quality care to patients across various clinical settings. You will play a crucial role in patient rehabilitation, assisting with treatment plans, monitoring progress, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for recovery. Key Responsibilities
- Assist qualified physiotherapists in the delivery of treatment programs, including exercises, mobilisations, and use of equipment.
- Prepare treatment areas and equipment before and after sessions, ensuring cleanliness and readiness.
- Monitor and document patient progress, reporting any changes or concerns to the supervising physiotherapist.
- Support patients with mobility and transfers, adhering to manual handling guidelines.
- Provide guidance and encouragement to patients during their rehabilitation journey.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to service development.
- Ensure a safe and tidy environment for patients and staff.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to patient scheduling and equipment management.
Required Skills
- Previous experience in a healthcare support role or similar environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
- Basic IT skills for record-keeping.
- Understanding of confidentiality and professional boundaries.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
- Experience specifically within a physiotherapy or rehabilitation setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- First Aid qualification.
