Job Description

Prince Albert City Services is seeking a motivated and eager individual to join our team as an Entry Level Public Facilities Handyman / Maintenance worker. No prior experience is required – we are committed to providing comprehensive on-the-job training and mentorship to help you develop valuable skills in various aspects of facilities maintenance. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior maintenance staff with various repair and upkeep tasks in public facilities.
  • Perform basic maintenance duties such as painting, minor plumbing fixes, and carpentry.
  • Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work areas and equipment.
  • Operate hand and power tools safely after receiving proper training.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies as directed.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Assist with groundskeeping tasks as needed, including litter removal and basic landscaping.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License and a clean driving record.
  • Strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliability and punctuality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of tools and equipment.
  • Previous experience in a general labor or volunteer role.
  • Aptitude for problem-solving and hands-on work.
  • First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
