Job Description

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Public Facilities Handyman / Maintenance worker. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with little to no prior experience to learn valuable skills, receive on-the-job training, and grow within a supportive environment. You will be instrumental in ensuring our facilities are well-maintained, safe, and operational.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior maintenance staff with various repair and upkeep tasks across LVHN facilities.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance, such as checking and cleaning equipment.
  • Conduct minor repairs including patching walls, painting, replacing light bulbs, and fixing basic plumbing issues.
  • Help with general building maintenance tasks, ensuring a safe and presentable environment.
  • Learn to identify maintenance needs and report them to supervisors.
  • Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision.
  • Follow all safety protocols and company policies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Strong willingness to learn and develop new trade skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Basic problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in various conditions.
  • Reliable transportation and punctuality.
  • A positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
