Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Local Authority Billing Clerk to join a dynamic team in Chesterfield. This full-time position offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to essential public services within the local community, with the added benefit of no weekend work. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial transactions related to local authority services. Key Responsibilities

  • Process invoices, bills, and payment requests accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile billing discrepancies and resolve customer queries related to accounts.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date billing records and databases.
  • Prepare and issue regular billing statements and reports.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures related to billing.
  • Ensure compliance with local authority financial regulations and policies.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments and external customers regarding billing matters.
