Job Description
Are you an enthusiastic and outgoing individual with a passion for music and engaging with the public? Global Radio is looking for a vibrant Radio Station Promotions Assistant to join our team in Lichfield. This exciting entry-level role is perfect for someone who loves to be out and about, representing our station at events, driving our promotions van, and bringing smiles to people’s faces with fantastic giveaways. If you’re reliable, a great communicator, and have a valid UK driving license, we want to hear from you! No prior experience in radio is necessary – we’ll provide all the training you need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely drive and maintain the station's promotions vehicle to various events and locations throughout Lichfield and the wider Staffordshire area.
- Set up and dismantle promotional equipment, including gazebos, sound systems, and branding materials, at events.
- Act as a friendly and approachable brand ambassador, engaging with the public and representing the radio station positively.
- Distribute promotional merchandise, prizes, and information to event attendees.
- Assist with the execution of on-site promotions, contests, and listener engagement activities.
- Provide basic technical support for promotional equipment, escalating issues when necessary.
- Document event participation through photos and brief reports.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and company policies during promotional activities.
Required Skills
- Full, clean UK driving license and confidence driving a large van.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Enthusiastic, energetic, and outgoing personality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required by event schedules.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to lift and carry promotional materials and equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role or events environment.
- Familiarity with the Lichfield and surrounding Staffordshire area.
- A genuine interest in radio, music, and local community events.
