Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Remote Housing Assistance Coordinator to join our team. This vital role involves supporting individuals and families in navigating housing resources, applying for assistance programs, and securing stable living arrangements. As a fully remote position, you will work from the comfort of your home, utilizing technology to connect with clients and collaborate with team members. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial assessments of client housing needs and eligibility for various assistance programs.
  • Guide clients through the application process for housing support initiatives (e.g., rental assistance, emergency housing, transitional housing).
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records in a digital database, ensuring data integrity and privacy.
  • Liaise effectively with landlords, property managers, and community partners to identify available and suitable housing options.
  • Provide comprehensive information and referrals to related support services, such as employment assistance, legal aid, and health services.
  • Educate clients on tenant rights and responsibilities, as well as the terms and conditions of lease agreements.
  • Track program outcomes, collect relevant data, and contribute to reporting requirements as needed.
  • Actively participate in virtual team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Required Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, capable of managing a diverse caseload.
  • Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace) and virtual communication tools.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage tasks in a remote work environment.
  • High degree of empathy, patience, and cultural sensitivity when interacting with diverse client populations.
  • Basic understanding of housing assistance programs, social services, or community resource navigation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish, Armenian, or Korean) to better serve our diverse community.
  • Prior experience with client management systems (CMS) or database software.
  • Knowledge of local housing laws, regulations, and community resources specific to Southern California.
