Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Reservoir Engineer to join our dynamic team in Banbury, Oxfordshire. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our energy projects, focusing on reservoir characterization, modeling, simulation, and production optimization. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to develop innovative solutions for complex reservoir challenges, contributing to the efficient and sustainable development of energy resources. This role requires a strong technical background in petroleum engineering and a passion for tackling challenging problems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform reservoir engineering studies, including material balance, decline curve analysis, and production forecasting.
  • Develop and maintain static and dynamic reservoir models using industry-standard software.
  • Design and interpret well tests, log analysis, and core data to enhance reservoir understanding.
  • Evaluate various enhanced oil recovery (EOR) mechanisms and recommend optimal strategies.
  • Participate in field development planning and reserves estimation.
  • Provide technical support for drilling and completion operations.
  • Collaborate with geoscientists, petrophysicists, and production engineers to integrate data and optimize field performance.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and contribute to project proposals.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in reservoir engineering.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in reservoir engineering within the oil and gas or energy sector.
  • Proficiency in reservoir simulation software (e.g., Eclipse, CMG, Petrel Reservoir Engineering).
  • Strong understanding of reservoir fluid properties, rock mechanics, and well performance.
  • Experience with production data analysis and forecasting tools (e.g., OFM, PETEX IPM).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with unconventional resources (e.g., shale, tight gas).
  • Familiarity with economic evaluation software and principles.
