Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Robotics / Mechatronics Engineer to join our advanced engineering team in Santa Monica, CA. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design, development, and integration of complex robotic and mechatronic systems for various aerospace and defense applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in robotics, control systems, mechanical design, and software development, with a passion for innovation and problem-solving. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test robotic and mechatronic systems, including manipulators, sensors, and actuators.
  • Implement control algorithms and software for real-time robotic operations.
  • Conduct simulations and analyses to validate system performance and reliability.
  • Integrate hardware and software components into functional prototypes and production systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, troubleshoot issues, and ensure project success.
  • Document designs, test procedures, and results in accordance with engineering standards.
  • Participate in all phases of the product lifecycle, from concept to deployment.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in C++ or Python for robotics programming.
  • Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System) or similar robotics frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of control theory and real-time embedded systems.
  • Knowledge of mechanical design principles and CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA).
  • Familiarity with various sensor technologies (e.g., LiDAR, cameras, IMUs).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with industrial robotics or autonomous systems.
  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques for robotics applications.
  • Prior experience in aerospace or defense industry.
  • Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.
