Job Description

FKG Group is seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Scaffolder’s Assistant to join our dynamic construction team in Toowoomba, QLD. This is a full-time, on-site role perfect for individuals who thrive in a physically active environment, are comfortable with heights, and are eager to learn and grow within the construction industry. You will be instrumental in supporting our qualified scaffolders on various projects, ensuring all materials are handled safely and efficiently, and contributing to the timely completion of high-quality scaffolding structures. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist qualified scaffolders in the erection and dismantling of scaffolding structures.
  • Safely load, unload, and transport scaffolding materials (tubes, fittings, planks) to and from work areas.
  • Organise and maintain a clean and safe work site, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored.
  • Perform general labouring duties as required to support site operations.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including working at heights regulations.
  • Participate in daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

Required Skills

  • Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy materials regularly.
  • Comfortable working safely at heights and in various weather conditions.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
  • Basic understanding of construction site safety principles.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Construction Induction Card (White Card) – essential for site access and will be required prior to starting.
  • Previous experience (3+ months) in a construction or manual labouring role.
  • Current Australian Driver’s License and reliable transport.
