Job Description
Are you passionate about craft beer and love sharing your knowledge with others? The Hop & Barley Cellar is looking for an enthusiastic and friendly Craft Beer / Bottle Shop Advisor to join our team for evening shifts. You’ll be the welcoming face of our shop, guiding customers through our diverse selection, managing stock, and ensuring our space remains inviting. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys a relaxed, social retail environment and is eager to deepen their understanding of the craft beer world while providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist customers with a friendly and knowledgeable approach.
- Provide recommendations on craft beers, ciders, and spirits based on customer preferences.
- Handle sales transactions accurately using our POS system.
- Maintain a tidy, organised, and appealing bottle shop display.
- Assist with receiving, pricing, and stocking new deliveries.
- Ensure the shop is clean and well-presented, especially during evening hours.
- Contribute to a positive and engaging customer experience.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Genuine interest in craft beer, ciders, or spirits (enthusiasm to learn is key!).
- Ability to work evening shifts, including weekends.
- Reliable, punctual, and a team player.
- Basic numeracy and computer literacy for POS operations.
- Over 18 years of age due to alcohol sales regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail, hospitality, or a customer-facing role.
- Basic knowledge of different beer styles and brewing processes.
- Experience with stock rotation and merchandising.
