Job Description

Join First Student UK as a School Bus Monitor / Aide and play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of school children during their daily commutes. This position is perfect for individuals seeking flexible work arrangements, particularly parents, thanks to its unique split shift schedule. You will be responsible for assisting the bus driver, managing student behaviour, and helping children with special needs or mobility challenges. Full training will be provided to ensure you are confident and competent in your role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safe boarding and disembarking of all students.
  • Assist students with special needs or mobility devices as required.
  • Maintain order and positive behavior among students on the bus.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding any incidents or concerns.
  • Help maintain a clean and safe bus environment.
  • Monitor students during the journey, ensuring adherence to safety rules.
  • Administer basic first aid if necessary and follow emergency procedures.
  • Assist the driver with route awareness and student counts.
