Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Tour Operations Manager to join our team in Dartmouth, Devon. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of our diverse range of tours, from initial planning to post-tour evaluation. You will be responsible for overseeing all operational aspects, including logistics, supplier management, budgeting, and quality control. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a passion for delivering outstanding travel experiences. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the end-to-end operational delivery of all assigned tour programmes.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favourable terms and ensuring service quality.
- Monitor tour budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising quality.
- Implement and enforce health and safety policies and procedures across all tours.
- Recruit, train, and manage tour leaders and local ground staff.
- Respond to and resolve operational issues and emergencies effectively and promptly.
- Conduct post-tour evaluations and implement improvements for future tours.
- Ensure all tours comply with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Utilise booking systems and operational software efficiently for tour management.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in tour operations or travel management (minimum 36 months).
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in budget management and financial oversight.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle unforeseen challenges.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the tourism industry.
- Valid UK driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Tourism, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Experience with international tour operations.
- Fluency in a second language relevant to TUI's key destinations.
- Proficiency in tour operating software (e.g., Tourplan, Amadeus).
