Job Description

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in leading shifts, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring the highest standards of person-centred care are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of Care Assistants, providing guidance and support.
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal care, mobility, and feeding.
- Administer medication as prescribed, following company policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records.
- Respond to emergencies and provide first aid when necessary.
- Promote residents' independence, dignity, and choice.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Care Assistant in a professional setting.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrated leadership potential and ability to mentor junior staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A compassionate and empathetic approach to care.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong understanding of care principles, safeguarding, and dignity in care.
- Eligibility for Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electronic care planning systems.
- First Aid qualification.
- Specialised training in dementia care or palliative care.
- Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing) to a level required for effective communication in a care setting.
