Job Description

Securitas UK is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Shopping Mall Security Dispatcher to join our team in Cambridge. This full-time, sit-down role is crucial for maintaining the safety and security of our prominent shopping center. As a Dispatcher, you will be the central communication hub for all security operations, monitoring CCTV feeds, responding to calls for assistance, and coordinating security personnel on the ground. We are looking for an individual with excellent communication skills, a calm demeanor under pressure, and a strong commitment to public safety. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor CCTV systems and alarms diligently for any suspicious activities or potential incidents.
• Act as the primary point of contact for all security personnel and mall management, utilizing radio and telephone systems.
• Dispatch security officers effectively to incidents, emergencies, or for routine checks as required, ensuring optimal response times.
• Maintain meticulous and accurate logs of all communications, activities, and incidents, adhering to established protocols.
• Provide clear, concise, and timely information and instructions to security personnel during ongoing incidents.
• Coordinate seamlessly with external emergency services (e.g., police, fire, ambulance) when necessary, relaying critical information.
• Generate comprehensive daily reports on security activities, incident responses, and any relevant observations.
• Assist with visitor and contractor access control procedures, ensuring compliance with mall policies.

Required Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in basic computer operations, including data entry and standard office software.
• Proven ability to multitask efficiently and prioritize effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced control room environment.
• Strong attention to detail and observational skills to identify potential security risks.
• Maintain a calm, professional, and composed demeanor, especially during high-pressure situations.
• Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as a vital part of a security team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience (at least 12 months) in a dispatch, call center, security control room, or a similar administrative support environment.
• Familiarity with CCTV monitoring systems and alarm protocols.
• Possession of a valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) license is advantageous, but not strictly required (training can be provided to suitable candidates).
• Current First Aid certification.
