Job Description
Join ABM Industries as a Stairwell Sweeper & Mopper and play a crucial role in maintaining the pristine condition of commercial buildings in Rockford, IL. This physical role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to perform repetitive tasks to ensure all stairwells are kept clean, safe, and presentable. Key Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum stairwells, landings, and related areas in commercial properties.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners as needed within stairwell areas.
- Clean and disinfect handrails, banisters, and other high-touch surfaces.
- Dust ledges, window sills, and light fixtures in stairwells.
- Report any maintenance issues, damage, or safety hazards observed to a supervisor.
- Properly use and store cleaning chemicals and equipment according to safety guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work cart and supply closet.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to 25 lbs), and repetitive motions for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and a thorough approach to cleaning tasks.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services (not required, but a plus).
