Job Description
ISS Facility Services is seeking a dedicated and physically capable Stairwell Sweeper & Mopper to join our team in San Antonio, TX. This full-time, on-site position involves maintaining the cleanliness and safety of stairwells and common areas within various commercial buildings. This is a physically demanding role that requires consistent effort, attention to detail, and a commitment to high standards. No prior experience is necessary; we provide comprehensive training to all new hires. Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily sweeping and mopping of all designated stairwells, landings, and related common areas in commercial buildings.
- Ensure all surfaces are free from dust, debris, spills, and other hazards.
- Empty and clean waste receptacles located in stairwells.
- Spot clean walls, railings, and kick plates as needed to maintain appearance.
- Monitor and report any maintenance issues, damage, or safety concerns discovered during cleaning to supervisors.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Properly store and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Work efficiently and effectively to complete assigned tasks within designated timeframes.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure overall facility cleanliness.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical labor, including standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to 25 lbs), sweeping, and mopping for extended periods.
- Reliability and punctuality for all scheduled shifts.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures or willingness to be trained.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services (even if not extensive).
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Familiarity with various cleaning chemicals and equipment (training provided).
