Job Description
Pasadena Collegiate Living is seeking enthusiastic and responsible individuals to join our team as a Student Housing Resident Advisor. This live-in position offers a unique opportunity to build community, provide support, and serve as a vital resource for student residents. As an RA, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive and engaging living experience, ensuring resident well-being, and upholding community standards. This role includes a significant rent discount as a core benefit, acknowledging the live-in nature and extensive responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary resource and positive role model for residents within your assigned community.
- Develop and implement engaging community-building programs and activities to foster a sense of belonging.
- Enforce housing policies and procedures fairly and consistently, ensuring a safe and respectful environment.
- Respond to resident concerns, emergencies, and conflicts in a timely and effective manner, providing appropriate guidance and resources.
- Conduct regular health and safety checks of resident rooms and common areas.
- Assist with student check-in and check-out processes, including administrative duties.
- Participate in an on-call rotation schedule for emergency response, including evenings and weekends.
- Facilitate mediation and conflict resolution among residents.
- Collaborate with housing staff and campus partners to support student success and well-being.
Required Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated leadership potential and ability to take initiative.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with diverse groups.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to student well-being and development.
- Availability for evening, weekend, and on-call duties as part of the live-in commitment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current enrollment as a student in a higher education institution (associate's, bachelor's, or graduate degree program).
- Previous experience in a customer service, leadership, mentoring, or group facilitation role.
- Familiarity with student housing operations, university policies, or community standards.
- CPR and First Aid certification (training may be provided).
