Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and analytical Supply Chain Controller to join our team in Calgary. This role is pivotal in ensuring the financial integrity and operational efficiency of our supply chain activities. The Supply Chain Controller will be responsible for providing comprehensive financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting specific to our supply chain operations. You will collaborate closely with operational teams to identify cost-saving opportunities, optimize processes, and support strategic decision-making to enhance the overall supply chain profitability and effectiveness. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain robust financial controls and reporting for supply chain operations.
  • Prepare detailed budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses for supply chain costs and performance.
  • Analyze supply chain data to identify trends, opportunities for optimization, and potential risks.
  • Collaborate with supply chain management to develop and implement cost-reduction strategies.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to supply chain efficiency and present findings to leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support strategic initiatives by providing financial insights and business case development.
  • Manage inventory valuation, cost of goods sold, and associated accounting entries.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at improving supply chain processes and systems.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, controlling, or accounting, preferably within a supply chain or logistics environment.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and forecasting methodologies.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA designation or actively pursuing.
  • Experience with large-scale ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Knowledge of transportation logistics and rail industry operations.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
