Job Description
We are offering an exciting internship opportunity for an aspiring legal professional to join our Public Prosecution and Enforcement team within the Legal Department. This Prosecutorial & District Attorney Intern role is designed for individuals eager to gain practical experience in the field of law enforcement and public prosecution. You will work alongside experienced solicitors and legal officers, assisting with case preparation, legal research, and administrative tasks crucial to the prosecutorial process. This is an entry-level position perfect for those with no prior professional experience, providing a foundational understanding of the UK’s legal system and the role of local government in upholding the law. Full training and mentorship will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist legal officers and solicitors in preparing cases for prosecution, including gathering evidence and documentation.
- Conduct legal research on relevant statutes, case law, and regulations.
- Draft correspondence, memos, and other legal documents under supervision.
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Attend court proceedings or council committee meetings as an observer to gain insight into legal processes.
- Support the team with administrative tasks such as scheduling, data entry, and file management.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external agencies as required.
