Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic and qualified Swimming Teachers to join our vibrant team in Southampton. This role is crucial in helping individuals of all ages develop essential life skills and a love for the water. You will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality swimming lessons in a safe and engaging environment, catering to various skill levels from beginners to advanced swimmers. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective swimming lessons in accordance with national teaching plans and facility guidelines.
  • Assess swimmers' abilities and progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching methods as necessary.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants in the water and on poolside at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and achievement for all students.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding their child's progress and any concerns.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and emergency procedures.
  • Act as a positive role model, promoting a love for swimming and water safety.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.

Required Skills

  • STA Level 2 Certificate in Swimming Teaching or Swim England Level 2 Teaching Aquatics qualification.
  • Current NPLQ (National Pool Lifeguard Qualification) or an equivalent life-saving award.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience teaching swimming to diverse age groups and abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a passion for teaching swimming.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • First Aid at Work qualification.
  • Experience with specialist teaching (e.g., adult lessons, baby swimming, disability swimming).
  • Customer service experience in a leisure environment.
