Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Theme Park Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our park in Sydney, Nova Scotia. This pivotal role involves managing all operational departments, ensuring an exceptional guest experience, maintaining the highest safety standards, and optimizing operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a proven track record in the hospitality or entertainment industry, capable of motivating a large team and managing complex logistics. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all day-to-day park operations, including rides, attractions, guest services, retail, and food and beverage.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure efficiency, safety, and guest satisfaction.
- Lead, train, and mentor a diverse team of supervisors and front-line staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Monitor operational performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations, park policies, and industry best practices.
- Manage operational budgets, control labor costs, and optimize resource allocation.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., maintenance, marketing) to ensure seamless park operations and special event execution.
- Respond to and resolve guest inquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Prepare regular reports on operational status, challenges, and achievements.
- Champion a culture of exceptional guest service and continuous improvement.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in operations management, preferably in a theme park, resort, or large-scale entertainment venue.
- Strong leadership, team building, and motivational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making capabilities under pressure.
- Proficiency in operational planning, budgeting, and performance analysis.
- Thorough understanding of safety protocols and risk management in a public-facing environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Experience with theme park specific operational software and systems.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of local tourism market and trends in Nova Scotia.
