Job Description
Join our dedicated outdoor maintenance team as a Traffic Sign Installation Laborer. This vital role involves the safe and efficient installation, repair, and maintenance of various traffic signs and street furniture across the city of Oxford. You will work outdoors in all weather conditions, contributing directly to road safety and the clear guidance of traffic and pedestrians.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely install and remove traffic signs, posts, and related street furniture according to specifications and safety standards.
- Assist with the excavation, backfilling, and concreting required for sign installation.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, drills).
- Transport materials and equipment to various job sites.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and procedures, including manual handling.
- Perform routine checks and maintenance on equipment.
- Work effectively as part of a team, communicating clearly with colleagues and supervisors.
- Complete daily work reports and records accurately.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to perform strenuous outdoor work in all weather conditions.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of health and safety procedures.
- Valid UK Driving License (Category B).
- Excellent time management and reliability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in outdoor labor, construction, or a similar manual role.
- Basic knowledge of traffic management and road safety regulations.
- CSCS card or similar site safety qualification.
- Experience operating small plant machinery.
