Job Description

Prince Albert Transit is excited to offer a unique opportunity for individuals with no prior bus driving experience to become professional Bus Drivers. We are committed to investing in our future talent, which is why we will cover the full cost of your Passenger Carrying Vehicle (PCV) licence training. This is a full-time trainee position designed to equip you with all the skills and qualifications needed to operate our modern fleet safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities
- Successfully complete all required training modules for the PCV licence.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and traffic regulations during training and subsequent driving duties.
- Operate transit buses safely and punctually on designated routes, once qualified.
- Provide excellent customer service to passengers, assisting with inquiries and ensuring a pleasant journey.
- Inspect vehicles pre-trip and post-trip, reporting any defects or issues.
- Manage passenger boarding and alighting, including operating accessibility ramps/lifts as needed.
- Handle cash fares and operate fare collection equipment.
Required Skills
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence (or equivalent) for a minimum of 3 years.
- Clean driving record with no more than 3 demerit points.
- Ability to pass a criminal record check.
- Strong commitment to safety and customer service.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Ability to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
- Familiarity with the Prince Albert road network.
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
