Job Description
Are you a recent graduate or an ambitious individual looking to launch a rewarding career in government auditing? CLA is excited to offer an entry-level Trainee Government Auditor position in our Lancaster, PA office. This is a unique opportunity to gain comprehensive training, practical experience, and acquire industry-recognized certifications, all fully paid by the firm. You will work alongside experienced professionals, learning the intricacies of government auditing, financial compliance, and public sector operations. No prior auditing experience is required – we are looking for eager learners with strong analytical skills and a commitment to public service.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior auditors in performing routine audit procedures for government entities.
- Learn to review and analyze financial statements, records, and internal controls.
- Document audit findings and support workpapers with clear and concise information.
- Gain familiarity with government accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in client interviews and information gathering sessions.
- Prepare summaries and reports on audit observations.
- Commit to continuous learning and professional development through firm-provided training and paid certification programs.
- Adhere to professional ethics and firm quality standards.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
